What is on the Bluefish clipboard?

I'm wondering how text is copied to the Mac OS system pasteboard.

I was using Bluefish to generate HTML for labels in yEd, the graphical
editor. It appears as if yEd is very fussy about what is pasted into
labels. When I copy text from Bluefish it will not paste into the label
section of yEd. I have to paste the text into TextWrangler, copy and
paste into yEd.

config:
Bluefish 2.2.5
Mac OSX 10.9.5
yEd 3.13

Malcolm,
Bluefish uses standard MacOSX system clipboard ( that is provided by quartz gdk backend). It is rather strange that yEd has an problem, since other programs does accept pastes from bluefish. I was able to reproduce this issue it on my system as well.
It needs some investigation what might be causing it. I suspect textview issue - for example, when I copy/paste some string from Preferences dialog, it works... Maybe some textview formating symbols is causing this. So we need to understand, whether bluefish or gtk+ is causing this.
